Un-cancelling an order brings its tasks back

Set a cancelled order back to Confirmed and its tasks return to your crew, each with the crew member who had it.

Cancelling an order cancels its tasks. Setting it back to Confirmed used to leave them cancelled, so the job vanished from the crew app. Now the tasks come back: a task that had a crew member returns to them as Assigned and they're notified, and an open task returns to Pending for anyone to claim. Reopening a single cancelled task on Tasks also gives it back to whoever had it.

Contractor Auto-Assignment does what its switch says

New deliveries are offered to one contractor at a time only when Contractor Auto-Assignment is on, and it now starts off.

The Contractor Auto-Assignment switch in Automation settings was saved but never read, so every new delivery was offered out one contractor at a time whatever it said. Tasks now follow the switch, and it starts off for businesses that never turned it on. The Generate Tasks option on an order still decides for that order.

No "unclaimed task" alerts when you have no crew

Owner-operators without an approved crew no longer get pushed about tasks nobody could have claimed.

The two-hour unclaimed-task alert used to fire for every open task. If you run the jobs yourself and have no approved contractors, it now stays quiet.

Import customers from a CSV spreadsheet

Bring your customer list over from another rental system as a CSV; common column names are recognised and duplicates are skipped by email.

Import on the Customers page now takes a CSV as well as JSON. Columns such as Name, Email, Phone, Company, Address and Zip are matched by name, columns it doesn't know are listed as ignored, and ZIP codes Excel shortened get their leading zero back. Download CSV template gives you a file to start from, and PartyPad's own customer export imports cleanly.

Pay later on your booking page

Take bookings online without a card at checkout — customers book now and pay you the way your instructions say.

Booking page settings have a new How customers pay choice: Card at checkout or Pay later. With Pay later, customers press Book now, the review step shows nothing due today along with your payment instructions, and the booking is confirmed straight away with the full balance due. Stripe is no longer required to switch on a pay-later booking page.

  6. Improved
    Booking page

Simpler first step on the booking page

The dates step shows just the dates; your rentals appear on the next step, where customers choose them.

The list of rentals under the date picker repeated the rentals step, so it's gone. Each rental still has its own page that search engines can find.

  7. Improved
    Booking page

Tap an inflatable to add it to a booking

On your booking page, customers add or remove an inflatable by tapping its card instead of using a quantity stepper.

You own one of each inflatable, so the quantity stepper offered a choice that never existed. The whole card now toggles a rental in or out. Add-ons such as tables, chairs and concessions keep their stepper.

  8. New
    Dashboard

Video walkthroughs in the help center

23 help articles now open with a short video, with chapters you can jump between.

Walkthrough videos play right in the help center, with a chapter list so you can jump to the step you need. They're hosted by PartyPad, so no third-party video player tracks you. The ? button in the dashboard links straight to the video for the page you're on.

Deleting an order cancels its tasks

A deleted order no longer leaves its deliveries and pickups on your crew's schedule and the live map.

Deleting an order used to leave its open tasks assigned, still on the crew's schedule, the dashboard and the map. They are now cancelled, the same way they are when an order is cancelled. Completed tasks are left as they are.

    Coupons on your booking page

Create percent- or dollars-off codes customers enter before they pay, with minimums, use limits and start and end dates.

Add codes in the Coupons card of booking page settings. Customers select Have a code? on the review step and see the new total straight away. A code is checked again when they pay, the discount shows on their confirmation email, and a fully refunded booking gives its use back.

    Multi-day pricing

Price rentals by how long they're booked — a weekend or a week — and the booking page quotes the cheapest option for the dates chosen.

Give an inventory item price tiers for longer rentals. The booking page shows them and quotes each rental by the dates the customer picks, always using the cheapest tier that fits. Copy tiers applies one item's tiers to others.

    Signed rental agreements at checkout

Customers read and sign your rental terms on the booking page before they pay, and you keep a signed PDF with the order.

Turn on Require a signature under your rental terms and customers type their name and draw a signature on the review step before paying. The signed PDF is emailed with their confirmation, and you can download it from the order with Download signed agreement. It keeps the terms exactly as they were signed, even if you edit them later.

    Admin app

    PartyPad Admin 1.0.3

What changed in version 1.0.3 of the admin app.

    • Event detail lists the event's tasks in a new "Tasks" section, in schedule order, as task cards; tapping one opens the task.
    • Tapping a push about an online booking now opens that booking.
    • Filter chips on Events, Tasks and Team no longer clip their labels or stretch into tall boxes.
    • The last rows of the More tab — Approvals and Invite Contractor — no longer sit underneath the tab bar's raised icon circles, which are drawn up to 28pt above the bar.
    • The Billing screen answers what the plan entitles you to, and nothing about what it cost.
  14. Improved
    Crew app

    PartyPad Crew 1.7.6

What changed in version 1.7.6 of the crew app.

    • "Send balance link" on a booking-page delivery with a balance due.
    • The delivery or pickup window the customer was promised now shows under "Scheduled Time" on task detail ("Window: 8:00 AM–12:00 PM").
    • "Check payment" for a customer who pays the invoice at the door.
    • "Send Agreement Link" and "Send Invoice Link" buttons under the badges on the task detail screen, for a customer at the door who cannot find the email.
    • The task detail screen shows the customer's payment status beside the rental agreement badge: "Invoice Paid", "Collected $X", "Customer Owes $X" or "Nothing Due", from the same fields and in the same order as the start alert, so the two cannot disagree.
    • A delivery's payment question now asks whether the customer paid in cash or by check.
    • Cash collection on delivery completions.
    • Starting a delivery now says what the driver is walking into: whether the rental agreement is signed — completion is blocked on it, so hearing it at the truck beats hearing it at the door — and either "invoice paid, collect nothing" or the cash to collect.
    • The cash amount is now read strictly.
    • A failed completion no longer wipes what the driver entered.

    • If you want to go back to a password, Profile → Security now has "Disconnect Google" (or Apple), which emails you a link to set a new one.
    • Signing out now also signs you out of Google inside the app, so the next sign-in lets you pick a different account instead of silently reusing the last one.

    • TIME OFF: You can block a morning and an afternoon on the same day.
    • The Paperwork screen said "Nothing to sign right now" under a green tick even when your company had never set any documents up.
    • Documents your company had added but never sent to you appeared in the list and could be tapped, and tapping one answered with an error you could do nothing about.
  9. Improved
    Crew app

    PartyPad Crew 1.5.8

What changed in version 1.5.8 of the crew app.

    • Picking a vehicle is now a row of tap-once buttons instead of a scroll wheel, everywhere a vehicle is chosen — starting a task, adding a mileage log, and editing a task's mileage.
    • Starting a Driver task no longer preselects "No vehicle".
    • The Rate figure in the Tasks summary was stuck at 0% for everyone, always.

    • A task whose start time has passed no longer explains itself with the drop-window rule.
    • A task whose start time had already passed said "Past Due" at the top of the screen while the drop-window notice below it counted down thousands of hours "remaining".
    • The mileage log and task mileage screens could open their vehicle wheel sitting on a "── My Vehicles ──" divider rather than a real choice, and which divider it landed on depended on whether you owned a personal vehicle.
    • When the vehicle list fails to load, all three screens now say so and offer Retry.
