Build and publish routes on the dispatch board

Plan each crew's day on the map, set stop order and breaks, add riders, then publish so order times and task assignments update together.

The dispatch board maps every delivery and pickup in a date range, and it's where you build each driver's route for the day. Publishing a route sets each order's times and hands the driver their tasks in one step.

View mode: see the day

The board opens in View on today's date. The Date filters panel sets the range: pick Start and End dates or use This Saturday, This Weekend, This Week, This Month or This Year. Below the buttons you see how many deliveries and pickups are mapped, how many couldn't be placed on the map (unmapped), and how many are not routed. When every stop is covered it reads all routed.

Stops no route covers are highlighted on the map. The Planned routes panel lists the range's routes; click one to see its stops in order. Road lines are drawn for a single day; wider ranges show straight connectors.

Build Routes: plan one day

Switch to Build Routes at the top of the map. The Route Builder panel works on one day at a time; use its arrows to move between days.

  1. Click + New route. Each route gets its own color on the map.
  2. Click a pin, or a stop in the Unassigned list, and choose a route under Add to. Choose + New route to start a route with that stop.
  3. Drag stops up and down the route card to set the order. Each row shows its arrival time.
  4. Pick the driver in Assign a driver…, set the hour the route Leaves, and tick Return to depot if the truck comes back.
  5. Click ☕ Add break for lunch or a reload. You can rename it and set 15 to 90 minutes.

The card shows stops, miles, drive time and when the route ends. Break rows list what to load and what's coming back.

Stops from the days either side

While you build a day, the panel also offers Tomorrow's deliveries, for gear you want to drop the evening before, and Yesterday's pickups, for collecting the morning after a late party. Adding one moves that stop onto the day you're building when you publish. Stops already on a route the day before or after show under Already routed.

The Deliveries, Pickups, Yesterday and Tomorrow chips hide or show those pins.

Riders and pay rates

🧍 Add rider adds a ridealong slot, up to six per route. Pick a contractor with the Rider skill, or leave it open for any Rider to claim in the crew app.

Set Rider rate $/hr at the top of the builder to pay riders for the length of the route. If the first item on a route is a break named Getting started, publishing also creates a paid "Getting started" task for the driver at the Driver start $/hr rate, and one for each rider. Only the account admin can change these rates.

Publish a route

Click 📣 Publish route and confirm. Publishing:

  • sets each order's delivery or pickup time from the route, and moves its tasks with it,
  • assigns the stops' Delivery and Pickup tasks to the driver,
  • creates or updates the rider and Getting started tasks.

The card then reports what changed and anything refused, such as a driver missing a skill a task requires. The button stays disabled until you change the route; use Republish anyway if an order's time was edited elsewhere. Publishing needs the Tenant Admin or Task Manager role.

The trash icon deletes a route and returns its stops to Unassigned.

Warnings on a route card

  • Double-booked: a stop is also on another route. Remove it from one.
  • isn't on a mapped road or matched a road … away: check that order's address.
  • Routes have no depot to leave from: add your company address under Business settings.
  • Times are shown in your browser's time zone: your computer's zone differs from your business's.

If your orders come in from a connected booking system, routes are published there instead. The card says Published from your CRM and links out.
