Multi-day pricing

Charge different prices for 1-day, 2-day or longer rentals, add a per-day rate beyond your last tier, and copy tiers to other items.

By default an item costs its Daily Rate no matter how long the customer keeps it. Multi-day pricing lets you set a price per length of rental instead, for example a weekend rate that is cheaper than two single days. It applies to your online booking page.

Set up tiers

  1. Open Inventory and use the edit button on an item (or fill in Add Item).
  2. Under Pricing & Status, find Multi-day pricing.
  3. Select Add tier. Enter the number of Days (1 to 30) and the Price for a rental of that length.
  4. Add more tiers as needed, up to 10. Each length can appear only once. Select Remove to delete a tier.
  5. Optionally enter Each extra day, the price added for every day past the longest tier at or below the rental's length.
  6. Save the item.

Leave the tiers empty and nothing changes: the item costs its Daily Rate for any length. The Daily Rate stays required either way, because admin orders and your inventory list still use it.

How the price is worked out

A rental's length counts every calendar day from delivery to pickup, so delivery and pickup on the same day is 1 day and Friday to Sunday is 3 days.

  • A length that matches a tier uses that tier's price.
  • Any other length gets the cheapest valid price: the next tier up, or any shorter tier plus Each extra day for every day past it.
  • A length longer than your last tier is priced the same way, from the shorter tiers plus Each extra day.
  • With no Each extra day, a length longer than your last tier can't be booked online. The customer is told the longest rental available for that item and has to shorten the dates.

Example: tiers of 1 day at $150 and 2 days at $200, with Each extra day at $75. A 1-day rental is $150, 2 days is $200, and 4 days is $350.

What customers see

On your booking page each item shows the price of its shortest tier, for example "$150.00 / day" or "$349.00 / 2 days". Items without tiers keep "/ rental". An item's own page lists every tier and the extra-day price. The price in the cart and on the review step is the price for the dates the customer picked.

Copy tiers to other items

Once an item has valid tiers, select Copy tiers to other items… under them. Pick the items to receive the tiers and confirm. This replaces the multi-day pricing on the items you pick. Their daily rates stay as they are.

Setting up the booking page itself is covered in Set up your booking page.
