Notifications and notification settings
Where your own dashboard notifications live, and which settings control the task emails and push alerts your crew receives.
PartyPad sends notices two ways: to you in the dashboard, and to your crew by email and push on their phones. This article covers where each one is controlled.
Your notifications in the dashboard
The bell at the top of the dashboard shows your five most recent notifications and an unread count. Click one to mark it read, or click View all to go to Notifications.
The Notifications page lists everything, newest first, 20 to a page. Unread items are bold with a blue dot. Click Mark read to clear one. Use Previous and Next to page back through older ones.
Crew task emails
The emails contractors get about their tasks are set for your whole company on the Automation page, under the Settings tab, in the email notification section. Automation is a Professional plan feature. On the Free plan these emails stay on with their default settings.
- Go to Automation and open the Settings tab.
- Under Email Notification System, Enable Email Notifications turns crew task emails on or off for everyone.
- Choose when emails go out: On Task Assignment, 24-Hour Reminder, 1-Hour Reminder, Task Updates, Task Cancellations and New Contractor Registration.
- Optionally add a Subject Line Prefix and a Custom Message that appears at the top of every email, and choose whether to include location details, the equipment list and the payment amount.
- Enable Email Batching queues emails and sends them in groups. Set the Batch Interval (minutes) and Max Batch Size if you turn it on.
- Click Save Changes.
To check the result, enter an address under Test Email Notification and click Send Test. A sample task email goes to that address.
These switches cover email only. They don't stop push notifications in the crew app.
Crew push notifications
Each contractor controls their own alerts in the crew app, under Profile, then Notifications. There they can turn Push Notifications and Email Notifications on or off, pick which task notices they want (Task Assignments, Task Updates, Task Reminders, Task Cancellations), and set Quiet Hours. Task notices that fall inside their quiet hours are skipped, by email and push. An assignment made during quiet hours isn't announced later, so call them if it matters.
A contractor who turns email off in the app gets no task emails, whatever your company settings say. You can't change a contractor's own settings from the dashboard.
If a crew member says they never got a notice, work through My crew isn't getting notified.
Messages you send yourself
To send your own message to the crew's phones, for example a weather call, use Push Notifications. See Push notifications.
