Send push notifications to your crew

Send or schedule a message straight to your contractors' phones, see how many it reached, and archive old ones.

Push notifications put a message on your contractors' phones through the PartyPad crew app. Use them for the things the whole crew needs to know now: a weather call, a change at the warehouse, a weekend that needs more hands. Sending them needs the Tenant Admin role.

Task alerts, such as a new assignment, go out on their own and aren't sent from this page. This page is for messages you write yourself.

Send a notification

  1. Click Create Notification.
  2. Enter a Title (up to 50 characters) and a Message (up to 200 characters). Add an Image URL if you want a picture shown with it.
  3. Under Target Audience, choose who it goes to in Send to:
    • All Contractors sends to every approved contractor.
    • Individual Contractors lets you tick the people you want. Select All ticks everyone.
  4. Check the recipient estimate. It shows how many contractors are active and how many have push notifications turned on. Click Refresh to recount after a change.
  5. Under Delivery Options, leave Send immediately on and click Send Now, or turn it off, choose a Schedule Date and Schedule Time, and click Schedule.

Keep titles short and say what you need the crew to do. A message that reads "Rain call: all Saturday setups move to 10 AM" gets acted on. "Important update" gets ignored.

Who receives it

Only contractors you've approved can receive notifications. Pending, rejected and suspended contractors don't. If the contractor list is empty, approve your contractors on Contractors first.

A contractor also has to be signed in to the crew app on their phone with notifications allowed. Someone who turned notifications off, or hasn't opened the app since installing it, won't get the message. The recipient estimate shows this gap: if it says 12 active contractors and 9 with push notifications enabled, three people won't see it.

Track what you've sent

The cards at the top show your total notifications, how many were sent and are scheduled, your delivery rate and the last 7 days of activity.

Each notification in the list has a status:

  • Draft: not sent yet.
  • Scheduled: waiting for its send time.
  • Sending: going out now.
  • Sent: delivered.
  • Failed: delivery failed.
  • Cancelled: called off before it went.

Use the search box and status filter to find one. From a notification's menu you can View Details, Edit a draft, Send Now to send a draft or scheduled one immediately, Archive it, or Delete it for good.

View Details shows the message, who it targeted, total recipients, how many were delivered and failed, and the delivery rate. Your team can leave comments on it, which is useful for noting why a message went out.

Archive old notifications

Archive moves a notification out of the main list without deleting it. Click View Archived to see archived ones and Restore to bring one back. View Active returns to the main list.

When someone says they didn't get it

Open the notification's details and check the failed count. Then check that the contractor is approved, signed in to the crew app, and has notifications allowed for PartyPad in their phone settings. Crew not getting notified walks through each step.
